Simon Fraser goes 3-0 in California Fall Ball Road Trip
The Simon Fraser men's lacrosse team continued its fall practice season with three exhibition wins on a five-day tour through Northern California. On Friday, October 10 the Clan faced Sonoma State University, defeating the Seawolves 8-3 in its opening game in Rohnert Park. They then traveled to Berkeley California on Saturday, October 11 beating the Golden Bears 8-4.
Fraser concluded its third game in three days versus NCAA Div. II Notre Dame de Namur (NDNU) in Belmont, California where they defeated the Argos 9-8. SFU's win over NDNU marked the first time that the Clan have scrimmaged a varsity NCAA opponent in the school's 13-year history.

Simon Fraser loses in MCLA Quarter Final battle
In what was billed as 'the game' of the tournament, the #5 Simon Fraser were defeated by the #4 Brigham Young Cougers 10-9 in their quarter final round match up of the MCLA Div 1 championship tournament. The Clan, whose lone loss on the season was to the same BYU team, 17-11 back in February, led the 2007 defending MCLA Div 1 Champs for most of the afternoon, but could not pull away due in large part to BYU's senior goaltender, Christian Kikumoto's 20 save performance. The Clan, who return their entire 2008 roster for '09, end their impressive season with a 16-2 record.

Simon Fraser cruises past Florida State in Round 1 of MCLA Championships
Simon Fraser defeated the #12 Florida State Seminoles in their opening round match up of the MCLA Div 1 championship tournament with a decisive 20-10 victory. Fraser now faces #4 ranked Brigham Young University in MCLA Div 1 Quarterfinal action tomorrow afternoon.

SFU Captures 7th PNCLL Title
Simon Fraser defeated the University of Oregon 15-9 in the 2008 PNCLL Championship game to capture their PNCLL record 7th conference title. Fraser was led by midfielder Russel Thomas' 6 point (3g,3a) afternoon, 4 goal outbursts by both Ben Towner and Chris Tessarolo and goaltender Dean Stewart's 17 save performance.

SFU closes out season with 13 - 1 record
The Simon Fraser University men's lacrosse team finished the regular season with a convincing 20-7 win over Gonzaga University on Sunday. The win over the Bulldogs leaves the Clan undefeated in conference play, and 4-1 in out-of-conference competition. Suffering its only lose to the defending national champions, Brigham Young University, SFU now ranks #5 in the nation.
The Clan made headlines throughout the season, including a Player of the Week nomination for Ben Towner, and an Under the Helmet spotlight on Curtis Manning.
Post-season play begins this weekend with the PNCLL Final Four in Missoula, Montana, where the Clan hope to secure an automatic bid to MCLA Nationals in Dallas, Texas.

Clan to host Gonzaga University in final regular season game
Simon Fraser will close our their regular season at home on Saturday April 26 where they take on conference rival Gonzaga University. The Clan, who currently sit first in the PNCLL with a 7-0 record will look to extend their consecutive game winning streak to 12 with a win against the visiting Bulldogs. Game time is 1pm PST on field #3 at the Burnaby Lake Sport complex. Admission is free.

Simon Fraser was voted #5 in the latest MCLA Div-1 poll for the second straight time. The Clan captured 830 voting points and now sit behind, 1. Michigan (997) 2. Chapman University (960) 3. Minnesota-Duluth (913) 4. Brigham Young (881)

SFU extends winning streak to 9, defeats Beavers 11- 8
The # 7 Ranked Simon Fraser Clan defeated Oregon State University 11-8 in a rain filled afair at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex. The Clan, who came off an emotional win versus the Oregon Ducks less than 24 hours before hosting the Beavers started out slow and could not find their scoring touch until the 4th quarter where they outscored OSU 8-2 to come away with the victory.
The Clan were lead by Ben Towner's 5 point afternoon (4g, 1a) and by junior captain Curtis Manning's (2g, 1a) 4th quarter heroics. Simon Fraser's team defense was tenacious, limiting Oregon State's quality scoring chances.
Up next for the Clan, a roadtrip to Eastern Washington and Idaho to take on conference opponents Washington State University and the University of Idaho.

Simon Fraser Topples University of Oregon
The # 7 Ranked Simon Fraser Clan defeated the #5 ranked Oregon Ducks 16-8 in front of 300 fans at the Burnaby Lake Sports Complex. The Clan, who were lead by Russ Thomas' 6 point afternoon (2g, 4a) and a 5 goal output by freshman Chris Tessarolo, controlled the majority of the possession and peppered Oregon's goaltender, Paul Swanson with 49 shots on the afternoon.
Freshman goaltender Dean Stewart had his best collegiate outing, making 17 saves while SFU's team defense was stingy all afternoon, holding a powerful Oregon offense to 8 goals. The win moves the Clan to 9-1 on the season and first in the PNCLL.

Clan upsets Sonoma in Seattle
The #11 ranked Simon Fraser Clan defeated the #9 ranked Sonoma State Seawolves yesterday at University of Washington's Dempsey fieldhouse. The Clan, who were led by Ben Towner's 4 goal effort and freshman goaltender Dean Stewart's stellar 12 save performance, scored early and often as they ended the first half with a convincing 8-2 lead. Sophomore Ben Johnson was dominant at the faceoff X while solid team defense smothered a potent SSU attack.
The Seawolves's victory last weekend over #2 ranked Colorado State has huge implications for SFU and the MCLA national poll due out on March 26.

SFU continues to roll, takes Washington by 5
Simon Fraser University played out a penalty riddled game on Friday at the Dempsey Indoor Facility, defeating the University of Washington Huskies by a score of 16-11. SFU was led by freshman attack Chris Tessarolo who played arguably the best game of his collegiate career with 7 points on 4 goals and 3 assists. Tessarolo was helped by teammates Russell Thomas, Ben Towner, Adam Foss who all registered at least 4 points each.

Simon Fraser Midseason Report
SFU has hit the mid-point of their 14 game schedule, and as William Howard discusses, the team has already garnered significant attention. The Clan moved up in the MCLA national rankings, climbing to the eleventh spot, while sophomore Ben Towner was recently named MCLA Player of the week.
The squad will head to Seattle this weekend to face the unranked University of Washington Huskies and the #9 ranked Sonoma State Seawolves.

SFU beat the University of Montana Grizzlies by a score of 16-13 today. The game was played at SFU's Terry Fox field with sophomore Ben Towner leading the way once again for the Clan.

The Simon Fraser University Men's Lacrosse team improved to 2 - 1 on the season on Sunday with a win over the Boise State University Broncos.
The win wraps up the early season road trip for the Clan, with Ben Towner and Russell Thomas both notching 5 points.

SFU falls short at BYU
The Brigham Young Cougars used a seven goal first quarter to defeat the Simon Fraser Clan by a score of 17-11 on Saturday afternoon in Provo, Utah.
After taking a 7-1 first quarter lead the defending national champions struggled through the next fifteen minutes. The Clan scored the first two goals after the quarter break to close the lead to 7-4, ending the half with BYU holding a 10-7 lead.
Sophomores Russell Thomas (5G) and Ben Towner (3G) led the way for the Clan, while Josh Austin and Josh Hier paced the cougars with a combined 12 points .

SFU kicks off season with win
Simon Fraser started its 2008 season with a close win over the Westminster College Griffins in Salt Lake City, Utah on Frdiay.
The win is the first of a three game road trip for the Clan who are preparing to take on the defending national champions tomorrow in Provo.

SFU 2008 Preview
After posting a 9-2 record in 2007 and making their fifth straight trip to the PNCLL Final Four Conference Championships, Simon Fraser will begin the 2008 season ranked #24 in the MCLA.
The Clan return five starters and four All-Conference selections from last years team that finished 2nd in the PNCLL. Without a single senior on the 2008 roster, Simon Fraser will rely and its youth to gain valuable experience and push for the programs first PNCLL Championship since 2003 and a trip back to the National Championships.
